UNESA Student Introduces Comprehensive Academic Support Model
Empowering University Learners with Practical and Digital Learning Solutions
Surabaya, 03 December 2025
Dianoray Decampong H. Omar, a first-semester graduate student from the Philippines who is studying Educational Management at Universitas Negeri Surabaya (UNESA), presented a business plan that drew strong interest from her classmates and lecturers. Her project, Integrated Academic Support Services for University Students, reimagines how learning support can be delivered on campus.
In her presentation, Dianoray emphasized challenges frequently encountered by university students. Academic workload continues to increase, while many students still lack structured support mechanisms that help them manage deadlines, English-based courses, exam preparation, and emotional stress. This circumstance encouraged her to develop a model that provides integrated tools to help students stay organized, productive, and confident.
The proposed business plan introduces a comprehensive academic support system that includes physical study materials, downloadable templates, English tutoring, academic writing assistance, and workshops on time management and study skills. All components are designed to help students meet their academic needs more efficiently and enhance their on-campus learning experience.
One of the unique features of her plan is its dual function as a learning support service and as a potential micro-enterprise that can operate within the university environment. The model opens opportunities for collaboration with student organizations, campus departments, and local stationery businesses. Through these partnerships, the project could offer limited-edition planners, customized notebooks, and affordable academic bundles made especially for university students.
Dianoray also emphasized that the service can grow sustainably with minimal capital. Many students are looking for templates, editing assistance, and effective study tools, making the concept highly relevant and easy to develop. Affordability is prioritized to ensure accessibility for students from diverse backgrounds.
During the presentation, several questions emerged related to implementation, future development, and the influence of digital resources on student learning habits. The active discussion reflected how well the idea aligns with the real challenges students experience today and highlighted the importance of practical, student-centered academic support initiatives.
Through this project, Dianoray presents a model that encourages productivity, confidence, and academic well-being. It also embodies the principles of educational entrepreneurship by providing solutions with business potential while enhancing the quality of the learning experience.
